Connect Interactive Brokers to Lavender Terminal to monitor your live positions and trades, right alongside Lavender's independently computed Greeks and analytics.

What you get

With IBKR connected, Lavender mirrors your account read-only:

  • Positions — your live IBKR positions in the Risk and Positions windows.
  • Trades — your executions in the Blotter and the journal.
  • Balances — account values.

This connection is a monitor — Lavender does not place orders through it.

Connect it

  1. Start TWS or IB Gateway and log in on this machine. In its API settings, enable ActiveX and Socket Clients; for a monitor you can also enable Read-Only API for extra safety. Accept the connection prompt the first time Lavender connects.

  2. In Settings → Broker, select IBKR and enter just two things:

    • Account — your IBKR account number. Lavender reads live vs paper straight from it (paper accounts start with D, e.g. DU…).
    • Access via — whether you run TWS or IB Gateway.

    Lavender selects the socket port for you — TWS live 7496 / paper 7497, IB Gateway live 4001 / paper 4002 — and connects to it locally. 3. Restart for the change to take effect.

Runs locally

Lavender connects to TWS / IB Gateway over a local socket. Your IBKR session stays in TWS / Gateway — Lavender never sees your IBKR password.

Advanced and multiple brokers

The quick setup connects a single broker with default local settings — the path most traders want. For a custom port or client id, a remote TWS, multiple accounts, or several brokers at once, edit TradeServer.ini directly or email support@lavender-ts.com for help.
